HUBBALLI: The 13th annual Rath Yatra of Lord
Krishna and Balaram will be taken out on February 7 and February 14,
respectively in Hubballi and Dharwad.
Rajiv Lochan Dasa, president of Iskcon, told reporters here on Wednesday
that the festival will serve as a melting pot for people from different castes
and religions.
He said a special 40-ft-high chariot with a facility for automatic
height adjustment will be taken out through the main thoroughfares of the twin
cities.
The Rath Yatra in Hubballi will be inaugurated by Siddha Shivayogi Swami
of Siddharudha Mutt of Devar Hubballi on February 7 in the presence of Chanchalpati
Dasa, vice-president of Iskcon, Bengaluru. It will begin at 4.30pm from
Durgadbail and will conclude at Nehru Stadium at 7.30pm. A maha mangalarati
will be conducted after that.
On February 14, the yatra in Dharwad will begin at 4.30pm from Kala
Bhavan and will wind up at 7.30pm at the same venue.
